Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC)
HTI-5 Final Rule is HereToday, ONC and HHS released the Health Data, Technology, and Interoperability: ONC Deregulatory Actions to Unleash Prosperity (HTI-5) Final Rule. It advances administration initiatives by significantly reducing administrative burdens for health IT developers participating in the ONC Health IT Certification Program and is projected to save more than $1.5 billion in regulatory costs. Ultimately, it frees up resources for health IT developers, offering flexibility and support in pursuing innovations that enhance user experiences for patients and clinicians. We have updated the status of the ONC enforcement discretion notices consistent with the HTI-5 final rule. Upon the effective date of the HTI-5 final rule, most enforcement discretion notices will no longer be in effect and will be archived. Comments submitted in response to the HTI-5 proposed rule’s information blocking proposals remain under consideration as part of HHS’ ongoing efforts to address and eliminate information blocking. |
