Give Kids A Smile NYCDS 2025 Recap!
On Friday, February 7, 2025, the New York County Dental Society hosted its annual Give Kids A Smile NYCDS event, a tradition since 2014. Held in East Harlem, the event aims to raise awareness of the importance of good oral health within the community, instill good oral hygiene habits and detect children in need of follow-up care and connect them to a dental home. Over 200 volunteers participated in the event which offered clinical exams, preventive fluoride treatment and oral health/nutrition education to more than 1,000 children from 10 local schools. In addition, NYCDS holds a Parent Workshop to educate parents about good oral health habits and oral health videos are shared with all students prior to the event, reaching an even wider audience. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made this special day possible. GKAS NYCDS wouldn't be possible without the support of volunteers, dentists, and sponsors.

Give Kids A Smile 2024 Recap!
NYCDS spread smiles and raised awareness of the importance of dental health on February 2nd at Give Kids A Smile NYC (GKAS) in East Harlem. Nearly 1,300 children ages 3 – 14, from nine schools, received oral health screenings, preventive fluoride treatment, and oral hygiene education in a fun atmosphere. We truly couldn’t hold such a successful large-scale event without our GKAS volunteers (over 150 this year…our most ever!) and generous sponsors.
