The New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) has officially adopted its new ionizing radiation regulations, including the dental CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) sections.  In its assessment of public comments, adverse dental CBCT accreditation comments from NYSDA and NYSSOMS were dismissed as “unfounded.”  Minor technical changes were made to address other aspects of the comments.  You can read the complete NYSDOH Notice of Adoption at pages 11-13 in the State Register document here: New York State Register Ionizing Radiation Regulations Notice of Adoption.  The regulations are effective immediately on July 22, 2026.
