Chapter Amendment Signed Into Law on NYSDA Virtual Credit Card Law
A chapter amendment to the NYSDA Virtual Credit Card Law was signed into law by Governor Hochul as Chapter 33 of the Laws of 2026. The chapter amendment clarifies that a choice of claims payment method must be made by a dentist within 30 days after receiving the mandated notice from an insurer offering a choice of payment method in order to prevent insurers from delaying or evading the prompt claims payment provisions of the New York State Insurance Law. The law takes effect on June 17, 2026. The chapter amendment -- A.9510 (Bores) / S.8817 (Cooney) -- can be read here: Chapter Amendment to NYSDA Virtual Credit Card Law.
