Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo (D-Broome County) has announced, via the press release below, that she will not seek re-election following the conclusion of the current legislative session.

Assemblywoman Lupardo Will Not Seek Re-Election

Will step down at end of 11th term

Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo announced today that she will not be seeking re-election in November.  First elected in 2004, she will leave her position at the end of 2026, having served 22 years in the NYS Assembly.  The 123rd Assembly District includes the City of Binghamton and the Towns of Union and Vestal.

Statement from Assemblywoman Lupardo:

“I moved to this community 50 years ago to attend Graduate School at Binghamton University, when I was 22.  Over these five decades I’ve served as a BU Lecturer, a community mental health advocate and educator, a County Legislator, and for the past 21 years a Member of the NYS Assembly.  Serving in the Assembly has been an incredible honor, but the time has come for a new chapter in my life.  After this current term is over I will leave the Assembly, but will remain active in the community, focusing on the many causes and issues that I have worked to advance.  This is a truly wonderful place to live and work, and I look forward to joining with others in a new capacity to continue working to make it even better.”
