AHRQ Issues Digital Health Care Research Update

Jun 18, 2025

Per the notice below, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) has issued an update on how generative artificial intelligence (AI) can be used to improve health care.

Leveraging Generative Artificial Intelligence to Improve Healthcare

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has the potential to advance healthcare by enhancing diagnostics, personalizing treatment, and improving patient outcomes through data-driven insights.  Gen AI can also help healthcare become more accessible and patient centered.  Below are three examples of Digital Healthcare Research Program (DHR)-funded projects that showcase the potential of GenAI to improve shared decision-making, to integrate into primary care, and to optimize care through data-driven treatment guidelines.  These projects demonstrate our commitment to producing evidence about how to safely and effectively use AI, including GenAI, as it continues to evolve in healthcare.
