Two Part Lecture on Laser Dentistry with Dr. Robert Convissar on 6/3! (In-Person)
The first part examines common myths, hype, and misconceptions surrounding dental lasers, using peer-reviewed evidence to clarify what lasers can and cannot do and to help practitioners select the most appropriate technology for their practice. Learning objectives include understanding what treatment lasers are capable of performing, what lasers cannot yet perform, and which laser may be the best fit for a given practice.
The second part focuses on the practical use of lasers in fixed prosthetic and implant dentistry, highlighting how different wavelengths are suited for specific procedures and how clinicians can incorporate both hard and soft tissue laser techniques into everyday practice. Specific procedures discussed include soft and hard tissue crown lengthening, cordless gingival troughing, cosmetic gingival recontouring prior to laminate placement to create ideal proportions, treatment of altered passive eruption, peri-implant soft tissue modification and peri-implantitis management, and ovate pontic site formation.
