Course Objectives:
  • Pros and cons of utilizing clear aligner therapy for decompensation of the dentition prior to orthognathic surgery
  • Case selection for utilizing clear aligner therapy for decompensation of the dentition prior to orthognathic surgery
  • Optimization of aligner design for predictability and efficiency
  • Stabilization during the initial healing phase immediately post-surgery through resumption of dentoalveolar tooth movement
  • Indications for “hybrid” treatment utilizing a combination of fixed appliances and clear aligners either simultaneously or one before and one after orthognathic surgery.
