Founded in 1860, the New York County Dental Society is one of the largest dental organizations in the United States. With nearly 2,000 members practicing in Manhattan, NYCDS members have made a special commitment to uphold its ethical code and practice standards, as well as those of New York State and the American Dental Association. It is an invaluable advocacy and education resource that protects its members and the public.

Give Kids A Smile NYCDS Is Back! — February 5, 2027

It’s back—and we can’t wait to do it all over again! Our biggest event of the year is returning, and we’re gearing up to bring smiles, excitement, and brighter futures to more than 1,200 underserved elementary school children across 9 East Harlem schools.

Each child will receive...

  • An essential dental screening
  • Preventative fluoride treatment
  • Oral hygiene education in a fun-filled atmosphere

The impact doesn’t end when the event does. Children who need follow-up care are connected to resources and providers who can help them get the treatment they need.

Just as importantly, spending time with caring dentists and volunteers helps children build trust and positive associations with dental care—sometimes creating their very first positive dental experience.

Whether you’ve volunteered with GKAS NYCDS before or this is your first time, we’re looking for passionate dentists, dental staff, dental students and others to join us for this unforgettable day!
