Lecture Description:

Despite being one of the most common procedures in dentistry, local anesthesia remains surrounded by persistent myths and outdated beliefs. This dynamic, evidence-based course dispels common misconceptions while providing practical, literature-supported updates every clinician should know. From buffering and warming local anesthetic solutions to enhance patient experience, to the latest on articaine safety, participants will explore what’s fact, fiction, or somewhere in between.

Using an entertaining, multimedia format that blends case examples, current research, and real-world clinical tips, this session will help dental professionals refine their understanding of anesthetic pharmacology, improve technique, and elevate patient comfort and safety. Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or a new graduate, this course will sharpen your local anesthesia knowledge and clinical confidence for today’s dental practice.

    Speaker Information: Dr. Jason H. Goodchild, DMD 

    Jason H. Goodchild, DMD received his dental training at the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine (Philadelphia, PA).  He is currently the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Premier Dental Products Company (Plymouth Meeting, PA).  He holds faculty appointments at Creighton University School of Dentistry (Omaha, NE), and the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (Newark, NJ).  Dr. Goodchild’s general dental practice is in Elkins Park, PA.
