This course breaks down the latest threats, compliance pitfalls, and protection strategies in plain English. Learn what every dentist and office manager must know to secure patient data, avoid HIPAA fines, and keep your technology — and reputation — safe

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the most common cybersecurity threats facing dental practices today, including phishing, ransomware, and social engineering attacks.
  • Understand how HIPAA and state privacy regulations intersect with modern cybersecurity risks.
  • Assess vulnerabilities in your current IT systems, including network, email, and backup configurations.
  • Implement practical, affordable security measures — from staff training to encryption and multifactor authentication.
  • Communicate cybersecurity importance to the team, fostering a culture of data protection across the practice.
