Welcome to the New York County Dental Society

Founded in 1860, the New York County Dental Society is one of the largest groups of dentists in the United States. With more than 2,000 members practicing in Manhattan, NYCDS members have made a special commitment to uphold its ethical code and practice standards, as well as those of New York State and the American Dental Association. It is an invaluable advocacy and education resource that protects its members and the public.

Coronavirus Updates for Dentists

Practice owners: read and affirm the 12-page New York State Dept of Health Interim Guidance for Dentistry.

 Updated ADA Toolkit for Reopening.

N95 initial fit testing is only required if the wearing of an N95 mask is required. OSHA has not required N95 masks for dental personnel unless treating known or suspected COVID-19 positive patients, or the dentist’s own airborne hazard assessment reveals a need for N95 masks. The ADA has posted a template for dentists to use in performing a hazard assessment: COVID-19 Hazard Assessment.
