New CE Opportunity: TMD Talking Points with Top Specialists on 4/23

Attendees will leave this lecture with an understanding of why TMDs commonly occur, who seeks care and why outcomes can be very much improved when patients are empowered to be active participants in the process of getting better.

In the United States today, approximately 5-10 % of the population seeks care for a temporomandibular disorder (TMD) making it the second most common musculoskeletal problem after back pain. As a result, patients are often presenting to dental offices with jaw related problems asking for advice and or treatment to address their symptoms.


Attendees will leave this lecture with an understanding of why TMDs commonly occur, who seeks care and why outcomes can be very much improved when patients are empowered to be active participants in the process of getting better. The goal of helping patients feel "better' and understanding the limitations of care will be discussed as total symptom resolution is not always achieved.
