Welcome to the New York County Dental Society

Founded in 1860, the New York County Dental Society is one of the largest groups of dentists in the United States. With more than 2,000 members practicing in Manhattan, NYCDS members have made a special commitment to uphold its ethical code and practice standards, as well as those of New York State and the American Dental Association. It is an invaluable advocacy and education resource that protects its members and the public.

We Are Thrilled to Introduce You to Your New...

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Maurice Edwards, DMD, as the new President of the New York State Dental Association. He served as President of New York County Dental Society in 2015. Dr. Edwards is stepping into this role at a truly important time for our association. Members have navigated a period of change and challenge, working together to uphold the values that define our profession. Throughout it all, Dr. Edwards has shown a steady commitment to our mission and a genuine belief in the strength of our members.

Dr. Edwards is focused on healing and rebuilding. He encourages us to move forward with intention, to restore trust, and to strengthen the relationships that define both NYSDA and the New York County Dental Society. His approach to leadership values service, integrity, and open communication. He is dedicated to creating an environment where every voice is heard and respected. Dr. Edwards’ vision for NYSDA and NYCDS centers on renewed collaboration and shared purpose. He believes that by learning from our challenges, we can become stronger and more connected than ever before.
