Welcome to the New York County Dental Society

Founded in 1860, the New York County Dental Society is one of the largest groups of dentists in the United States. With more than 2,000 members practicing in Manhattan, NYCDS members have made a special commitment to uphold its ethical code and practice standards, as well as those of New York State and the American Dental Association. Don’t Miss Dr. Kalmar’s Oral Pathology Course on May 16!

This course covers oral ulcerative diseases and the clinical examination of precancerous and cancerous lesions, such as leukoplakia.

In recognition of Oral Cancer Awareness Month, this course highlights the importance of early detection and comprehensive evaluation of oral ulcerative diseases. Participants will learn to conduct thorough clinical examinations of precancerous and cancerous lesions such as leukoplakia, using case-based examples to identify key aspects of patient history, signs, and symptoms. The course also covers current concepts in disease pathogenesis, treatment options, and the role of HPV in oral and tonsillar cancers. Adjunctive tools for early detection of oral cancer and precancerous lesions will also be discussed to support timely and accurate diagnosis.
