Speaker Information: Sarah Barenbaum, MD

Sarah Barenbaum, MD is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She serves as the Obesity Medicine Director of the GI Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery practice, and as the Program Director of both the Obesity Medicine and the Obesity Medicine/Bariatric Endoscopy fellowship programs.  Dr. Barenbaum specializes in the care of patients with obesity and weight-related medical complications, and she sees patients at both the Comprehensive Weight Control Center and the GI Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery program. Dr. Barenbaum received her BA from Yale University and her MD from Drexel University College of Medicine. Dr. Barenbaum completed a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Obesity Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Obesity Medicine. Dr. Barenbaum is a member of The Obesity Society. In addition, Dr. Barenbaum is the author of numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on obesity medicine and weight management, and speaks and lectures widely on these topics.
