On November 21, 2022, Governor Hochul signed into law, as Chapter 613 of the Laws of 2022, the NYSDA bill to remove the “clinically-based” language from the dental experience/residency requirement for dental licensure – thereby allowing recognized dental specialty residencies such as oral medicine, orofacial pain, and dental public health to qualify for licensure purposes.
