The Job Accommodation Network (JAN) published an issue of its Consultants' Corner on "Dealing with Improper Requests for Medical Documentation from an Employer." In the article, Linda Carter Batiste, JAN Principal Consultant and Legislative Specialist, addresses employer and employee rights and responsibilities regarding requests for medical documentation to provide job accommodations.

Companies Follow the Roadmap to Mental Wellness
The Campaign for Disability Employment re-posted a blog from Leslie L. Wilson, Senior Vice President of Global Workplace Initiatives for Disability:IN, on "Companies Follow the Roadmap to Mental Wellness." In the blog, Wilson discusses the need for employers to acknowledge and address the mental health issues of their employees. She offers steps for employers to create mental health-friendly workplaces.

OMB Request for Information on Federal Equity
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released a Request for Information (RFI) as part of its implementation of Executive Order #13985, "Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government." The RFI seeks ideas for federal agencies to assess whether their policies and actions equitably serve all eligible individuals and communities, particularly those that are currently and historically underserved. OMB invites input, information, and recommendations from the public, private, advocacy, not-for-profit, and philanthropic sectors, including State, local, Tribal, and territorial areas, on available methods and tools to provide equity. The RFI is open until July 6.
