FDA Issues Safety Alert on Magnets in Cell Phones and Smart Watches Affecting Pacemakers and Other Implanted Medical Devices

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a safety alert on the risk of magnets in cell phones and smart watches affecting pacemakers and other implanted medical devices when in too close proximity.  FDA notes that any consumer electronic devices that may create magnetic interference, including cell phones and smart watches, be kept at least six inches away from implanted medical devices, in particular cardiac defibrillators.  To read the FDA safety alert on the risk of magnets in cell phones and smart watches affecting pacemakers and other implanted medical devices, use the link below.
