The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that, in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), it has lifted the pause on use of the Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). FDA notes that it has determined that the available data show that the vaccine’s known and potential benefits outweigh its known and potential risks in individuals 18 years of age and older.
