The United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) is seeking nominations for new members to the USPSTF. Each year, new members are appointed to replace those who will be completing their service. To learn more about the nomination process, how to nominate an individual for consideration, or how to self-nominate, go to: www.ahrq.gov/professionals/clinicians-providers/guidelines-recommendations/uspstf/nominate.html
. Nominations must be received by May 15, 2019, to be considered for appointment with an anticipated start date of January 2020. Qualified candidates must demonstrate expertise and national leadership in:
- Clinical preventive services
- Critical evaluation of research
- Implementation of evidence-based recommendations in clinical practice
In addition, USPSTF seeks diverse candidates who have experience in public health; the reduction of health disparities; the application of science to health policy; and the communication of findings to various audiences. To maintain balance in the expertise among members, strongest consideration will be given to individuals in the areas of family medicine and internal medicine. Individuals nominated prior to May 15, 2018, who continue to have interest in serving on the USPSTF, should be re-nominated.
