GAO Issues Congressional Testimony on 2019 National Drug Control Strategy

The United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) has issued Congressional testimony on the 2019 National Drug Control Strategy.  GAO found that the 2019 National Drug Control Strategy lacked certain legally required information, such as specific targets against which agency success can be measured.  GAO concluded that since the 2019 National Drug Control Strategy is intended to help coordinate more than a dozen agencies’ efforts to address illicit drug use, the lack of metrics made it impossible to assess the effectiveness of the strategy.  To read the GAO Congressional testimony on the 2019 National Drug Control Strategy, use the first link below.  To read highlights of the GAO Congressional testimony on the 2019 National Drug Control Strategy, use the second link below.
