This course includes new information, including additional requirements recently signed into law regarding dentist and sepsis management. It specifically includes the OSHA update for PPE COVID-19 recommendations. It is not intended to be a COVID-19 “return to work” course. This requirement is separate from the NYS Mandatory Infection Control Re-Licensure requirement of every four years for dentists and hygienists.
OSHA 29CFR Part 1910.1030 States: Personnel Subject to Occupational Exposure Should Receive Infection Control Training on Initial Assignment, When New Tasks or Procedures Affect Their Occupational Exposure, and at a Minimum Annually. This Course helps prepare the dental practitioner to comply with this OSHA mandated standard.
Note: dentists and hygienists can take this course multiple times a year and get credit each time but MUST take it at least annually. Staff are encouraged to attend and must be registered for the same course with their employers. (Live webinar, all must be present with video on.)
