Governor Hochul Signs Law Requiring Employment Law Notices to Be Delivered Electronically to Employees

Guidance and resources are provided to help members comply with the amended law.

Governor Hochul has signed into law, as Chapter 693 of the Laws of 2022, a bill that requires all employment law notices that must be posted physically by employers now must additionally be sent to all employees electronically. These requirements apply to all postings mandated by federal and state law, including items such as non-discrimination rights, unemployment rights, wage and hour laws, health and safety notices, etc.

Employers must have digital versions of these documents made available through the employer’s website or by e-mail. Also, employers must provide notice to their employees that such documents required for physical posting are also available electronically.
