 ition in oral pathology foundational knowledge is a natural process after 
 graduation and board exams due to such factors as relative rarity or even 
 possible lack of identification.  Given there is no mandatory continuing e
 ducation requirement for oral and maxillofacial pathology in dentistry\, i
 t is imperative to self-select such courses. This lecture aims to provide 
 the dental practitioner\, regardless of specialty or number of years in pr
 actice\, with an overview of the essential features of the common mucosal 
 lesions.  The presentation focuses on lesions which are from the main cate
 gories of inflammatory\, infectious\, immune mediated\, neoplastic\, and o
 ral manifestations of systemic disease.  Upon completion of this refresher
  course\, the dental professional will be familiar with the features and m
 anagement of the most common oral lesions to maintain an expected level of
  competency.Speaker Information: Dr. Arthi KumarDr. Arthi Kumar is a board
 -certified Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist who completed her training a
 t New York Presbyterian Queens. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Prof
 essor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology\, Radiology an
 d Medicine\, New York University College of Dentistry. In addition to maki
 ng diagnoses at the microscope\, Dr. Kumar sees patients in the Oral Medic
 ine clinic and teaches undergraduate dental students in didactic and clini
