Membership Requirements

Membership is tripartite. That is, when joining the NYCDS, a dentist must join the American Dental Association, and New York State Dental Association. Both feature unique national and state member benefits. There are several categories of membership:

Active NYCDS members must practice at least 50% of their time in Manhattan.
Student members, those in dental school or in a post-graduate program, must reside or attend school in Manhattan. Tripartite membership is not required of students.
Associate members who belong to another component society may join NYCDS to avail themselves of benefits and discounts.
Nonrenewing members who wish to rejoin must complete a reinstatement application.
Current tripartite members moving to Manhattan must obtain permission to transfer their membership. NYCDS will facilitate this process.
