There is only one organization that is dedicated to meeting your professional needs and that of organized dentistry in Manhattan, the New York County Dental Society. Programs and services are tailored to assist you in staying current and keeping abreast of the issues confronting the dental community. New York County Dental Society members can avail themselves of many of these opportunities at discounted fees. Other programs are included free of charge with your membership! Continuing Education

Each year, the Henry Spenadel Continuing Dental Education Program offers dentists and their staff unparalleled educational programs taught by experienced experts at our state-of-the-art facility. You'll find:

Lectures, incorporating advanced audio-visual technology, that bring theory into practical reality,
Programs that are specially designed to meet the needs of hygienists and auxiliaries,

The New York County Dental Marketplace, is a wholly owned subsidary of the Society and provides outstanding resources for your professional and practice needs at special group rates for members. Financial services including credit card processing, disposable products, and insurance plans are just some of the many services you will access as a NYCDS member. Affiliated with an established personnel placement agency, the New York County Dental Marketplace offers members well qualified staff at specially reduced fees.

The Greater New York Dental Meeting, the largest of its kind, includes programs presented by the most highly regarded and respected educators in the field of dentistry. Workshops, clinics, seminars and table demonstrations enable you to see and hear the newest trends. And, over 1200 company exhibits will keep you informed about the newest materials and technology. Attendance is free to NYCDS members who are invited to serve as volunteers at the Meeting.

A legislative voice through NYCDS political action ensuring that the interests of the dental profession in Manhattan are heard.

You'll receive Dentists' Quarterly four times each year. This easy-to-read newsletter contains on-going columns with immediate use to you and your staff. You'll hear from experts with helpful advice in managing your practice. Society news will keep you abreast of the many activities of our volunteer committees working on behalf of the profession.

MLMIC Program for Professional Liability Insurance- is a program with experience meeting the insurance needs of dentists for over twenty years. MLMIC is governed by dentists for dentists with one of the largest and most experienced claims staff in the country. The program offers in excess of four thousand members of the NYSDA comprehensive professional liability coverage at the lowest possible premium. Numerous discounts are available as well at a ten percent discount for successful completion of the NYCDS Risk Management Program. Volunteer participation as a member of an NYCDS committee is welcomed. Members assume important leadership roles in determining the direction the Society takes to achieve its goals and that of the profession. When you become a member you'll receive an invitation to serve on such committees as Insurance, Legislative, Membership, Public and Professional Relations. You can spend as much, or as little time, as your schedule allows and get to know your colleagues.

NYCDS members can participate in a referral service and increase their patient base while helping the residents of Manhattan.

Stated Meetings are held four times each year where members network with one another over a buffet dinner and hear a presentation of an emerging issue in the dental profession. Attendance is complimentary for members including continuing education credit.
