Volunteer Opportunities

The heart of NYCDS is its volunteers. Member participation is critical to the success of our professional community. Volunteering to serve on a committee can provide a sense of personal satisfaction and the opportunity to network with colleagues.

These committees are open to any member:

Children's Dental Health
  • design and implement programs related to Children’s Dental Health in the areas served by the New York County Dental Society
Give Kids A Smile
  • provide screenings and dental education to public school students
  • Thanks to everyone who participated in the Give Kids A Smile event on Feb. 3, 2017, when more than 100 volunteers screened over 1,000 children at three locations in Manhattan.

  • obtain information of pending or proposed federal, state, and municipal legislation to protect the interests of public health and the dental profession, and report to the Board of Directors with recommendations
  • propose other legislative measures
  • increase the membership of this Society
Public and Professional Relations
  • develop plans for good relations between the Society and the general public
  • develop plans for good relations with organizations representing allied professions and trades
  • develop programs which represent the dental profession to the public
  • mediate intra-professional disputes
  • cooperate with other committees on matters affecting the dental profession and the public welfare

We invite you to volunteer by calling us to discuss your interests. If you have questions, contact Diane Laurenzo, the Society's Executive Director, at 212-573-8500.
